Kyra is a choreographer and video maker, whose practice is informed by her background and training in contemporary dance & visual art. She has worked in theatre, dance & film on a wide variety of projects since 1998
Kyra balances working nationally and internationally with time spent maintaining and building on her local roots. Based in Bristol, UK since 2000, her involvement in grassroots artist-led projects, particularly the Cube Cinema and Albany Artists, has led to a number of interdisciplinary collaborative ventures and helped to shape her DIY approach as an all-round advocate and agitator for the arts
As well as leading The Light Fantastic, Kyra is currently researching toward a practice-based PhD at the University of Bristol and is an Associate Lecturer teaching Dance on Screen at Dartington College of Arts
