Kyra's live and screen-based solo and collaborative work has been presented internationally and she is the recipient of numerous commissions and bursaries. In her performance and video work, she draws on a wide range of influences to create choreographies from unlikely materials and starting points. She is interested in what audiences bring to live performance and to the screen; questions of space and place; and the relationship of sound and image
In 2006, Kyra made The Visitor, a short film in collaboration with performance artist Brenda Waite - a creative response to the Ponderosa TanzLand Festival, Germany looking at ideas of place, relationship to landscape and choreographing for the frame, and creative modes of documentation
In 2007, Kyra & Brenda were commissioned to create Habitat, a site-based screen event for Mayfest, Bristol Old Vic's annual festival of physical performance. An introductory article is online at Theatre Bristol's website, here
